We do not collect, harvest, or request any personally identifiable information (PII) to use our dice roller. You do not need to create an account, register, or provide an email address to roll dice on our website.
2. Local Data Storage (LocalStorage)
Any data relating to your settings, current dice pool configuration, sound toggles, and roll history is stored directly in your local browser’s `localStorage` (a local database on your own device).
- This history is stored locally solely for your own gaming reference.
- We have no access to this local storage. It is not transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party.
- You can clear this data at any time by clicking "Clear History" in the application interface or clearing your browser's site data.
3. stateless API Processing
When you perform a roll, the application sends a JSON payload specifying the quantities and types of dice to our serverless backend function at `/api/roll` for calculations.
- This process is entirely stateless.
- Our servers do not write persistent logs containing IP addresses, device identifiers, or roll results.
- The payload is discarded immediately after calculating the results and returning the JSON response to your browser.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We do not use tracking cookies, targeting cookies, or third-party advertising trackers. We may use anonymous server-level metrics to monitor server health and performance, but these metrics do not identify individual visitors.
5. Compliance with Australian Privacy Principles
To the extent that any anonymous metadata could be associated with you under Australian law:
- APP 1 (Open and transparent management of personal information): We maintain this clear, open policy on how we handle all data.
- APP 2 (Anonymity and pseudonymity): Users have the right to remain anonymous, which we support by requiring zero registration or identification.
- APP 6 (Use or disclosure of personal information): Since we do not collect personal info, we do not use or disclose it.
- APP 11 (Security of personal information): We protect your privacy by design, avoiding server-side data collection entirely so there is no target database for breaches.
